Career North are seeking to appoint a Trainee Careers Adviser who will undertake a relevant Level 4 qualification (Level 4 Diploma Careers Guidance Professional) and work in schools across Sefton, West Lancashire and Merseyside.
Upon successful completion, Career North would then guarantee you a position with the company undertaking the Level 6 Diploma Careers Guidance Professional qualification by way of an Apprenticeship with the company.
Applicants must hold a full clean driving licence and be prepared to travel. They must ideally be qualified to A-Level or BTEC Level 3 and have Maths and English at GCSE Level 4/Grade C as a minimum.
Applicants must have a genuine desire to work with young people and be committed to providing the highest level of careers guidance and support to enable young people to succeed.
Applicants must clearly state why they wish to undertake the role and qualification, and include their motivation to work with young people and any previous relevant or transferable experience in a separate covering letter.

Prime Objectives of the Post:
To provide information, advice and guidance services to young people in pre- and post-16 education settings in line with service level agreements
Range of Duties:
1.
Deliver careers advice and guidance to young people, using a range of approaches including individual Career Conversations, group guidance, workshops, remote activity, and web based technologies.
2.
Deliver other information advice and guidance services as required e.g. participation in parent/carer events, supporting school based careers activities etc.
3.
Keep professional and occupational knowledge up to date and relevant to role
5.
Liaise with and make referrals to other agencies on behalf of young people as appropriate
6.
Record student information through Career North Action Plans and in line with school reportng systems
7.
Positively promote the company's services to customers and service users
General
All employees are obligated to manage their effective professional as part of the Company's commitment to quality, staff training and development.
Each individual must ensure that they meet their statutory responsibilities with regard to Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity in the workplace and other relevant employment legislation and Company rules.
Hours: 37.5 per week for 38 weeks (term time only), however with opportunities for additional work on an ad-hoc basis.
Whilst undertaking the Level 4 qualification, the successful candidate would join Career North as an Associate on a self-employed basis, and upon successful completion and enrolment onto the Level 6 qualification, move onto the Apprenticeship structure which is an employed position with additional company benefits.
Part time hours also available for the right candidate.
