Job Description

Due to the increasing workload within YTL Construction (Infrastructure), we have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Civil Estimator to work as part of our Estimating team.



You will deliver construction estimates for in-house teams and provide assurance and governance to schemes delivered with our external partners.

What you'll do

------------------



You will prepare civil estimates through the interpretation of civil drawings and specifications, as well as reviewing tender enquiry documents, drawings, and schedules. Information will also be gathered from site visits and meetings.



You will also record, measure, and prepare take-off quantities from tender drawings and liaise with sales and contracting teams, as well as purchasing and lead the negotiation with our supply chain.



You will work with our Commercial teams and be involved in negotiating variations, applications and final accounts with our external construction partners, creating strong relationships with our Designers, Project Managers, client teams and suppliers.

What you'll need

We are interested in hearing from anyone who has a civil background or is interested in civil engineering.



We are looking for candidates with an analytical and methodical approach to work. House building and/or water and wastewater experience is highly desirable.



You must have excellent computer skills, with extensive knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs, and have a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
