Blaze Signs are an award-winning signage manufacturer based in Broadstairs and Birmingham. Blaze Signs are market leaders in end-to-end business signage. They provide a complete solution, from planning, design, and project management, through to manufacture, installation and maintenance.

We have an opportunity in our hard working and friendly team at Birmingham (near Longbridge) for a CNC and Manufacture OperativeTrainee. This is a rewarding role where work for household names occurs almost daily. The Trainee CNC and Manufacture Operative (TCM) will learn how to use and maintain machinery in the factory. This will include a big emphasis on health and safety, preparing materials and the machinery itself. This is a very manual role and will require wearing full PPE. The role is Monday to Friday 07.00 to 15.30 with half an hour lunch break and a morning break.

Ideally, we would like someone with some experience of working in manufacturing or a manual role, but as long as you have a fantastic attention to detail and eager to learn we would love to hear from you.

Salary will be dependent on performance at interview and there will be a practical test.

Job Purpose:

To support the operation of letter bending and CNC router machinery used in the production of signage and fabricated components. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals looking to build a career in manufacturing or signage production. Full training will be provided

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with setting up and operating CNC router and automatic letter bending machines. Read and interpret job orders, design files, and technical drawings. Prepare materials for routing or letter bending, including measuring and cutting as required. Monitor machine performance and ensure quality of finished components. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines under supervision. Ensure work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures. Keep a clean and organized work area.
Learn and develop skills over the course of the apprenticeship/traineeship, with progression to a skilled operator role

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

Keen interest in manufacturing, signage, or engineering. Willingness to learn and take instruction. Good attention to detail. Reliable, punctual, and hardworking. Ability to work well both independently and in a team.

Preferred (but not essential):

Basic mechanical or technical aptitude. Some experience with tools or machinery (e.g., at school, in a workshop, or DIY settings).

Training and Development:

On-the-job training from experienced operators. Potential for long-term career development within the company.
