Introduction



We are look for a responsible and hardworking individual with an interest in supporting vulnerable residence to help them live in their homes safely who need support with Housing adaptations and repairs


What's the role?



We require an individual who can work at a fast pace and varying nature of work to be completed within tight timescales. The successful applicants will need to be able to use their initiative to problem solve on a daily basis, whilst also being able to undertake more routine mundane tasks in order to meet the needs of the service.


The role will be based within the Housing Improvement & Assistance Team supporting the team to meet its key objectives. The team plays a crucial role in offering grants and loans to disabled or vulnerable residents and homeowners on a low income enabling them to repair or adapt their homes, keeping them safe and secure.


The apprentice's duties will include assisting the team with a range of administrative duties and assisting grant coordinators and surveyors to process grant applications and complete works by updating systems and files, liaising with customers, responding to queries, arranging appointments and assisting with various projects to improve processes and service delivery. This role will involve a high degree of team work and collaborative working.


The potential apprentice will also get to shadow the surveyors to gain a better understanding of the role.

What we're looking for



Someone with a keen interest in working within the private sector housing, who has the desire to work towards a nationally recognised qualification while you develop the skills necessary to assist your team.


Someone who works well in a team, and is able to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.


Someone who is able to self-motivate and understands the importance of being organised and prioritise workload.


Location



Whilst the service is primarily based in Laurence House, we operate a hybrid approach whereby you may be required to work both in the office and from home as determined by service requirements.


Special conditions



To be eligible for this apprenticeship you must:


Be over the age of 16 (there is no upper age limit) Be a Lewisham borough resident (the electoral register will be used to verify this information) Have full residency entitlement, there must be no restrictions on your status in the UK (all successful candidates will need to produce their passport once a job offer is made)

Salary



27,010 per annum, London Living Wage 14.80 per hour
