Trainee Dental Nurse - Private State-of-the-Art Dental Clinic (Leeds City Centre & Harrogate)
We're looking for an enthusiastic
Trainee Dental Nurse
to join our modern, private dental practice based in
Leeds City Centre
, with occasional cover at our
Harrogate clinic
when needed.
About the Role:
You must already be
enrolled on a dental nursing course
.
Previous
experience working in a dental practice
is essential.
Experience in
reception or front-of-house duties
is highly desirable.
You'll work alongside our friendly and professional team, receiving full support and guidance from our
Lead Nurse
and
Principal Dentist
. Once fully qualified, you'll have exciting opportunities for further development, including
sedation training
and
treatment coordinator progression
Duties
Assist dentists during various dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Provide direct patient care, including preparing patients for treatment, taking medical histories, and ensuring their comfort throughout procedures.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with relevant regulations.
Sterilise instruments and manage infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of patient care.
Utilise IT systems for scheduling appointments, managing patient information, and maintaining inventory of dental supplies.
Qualifications
On Dental Nurse Course - working to gain relevant certifications or equivalent experience in a dental setting.
Strong patient care skills with a focus on empathy and understanding towards patients' needs.
Proficient in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
Solid organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a busy environment.
Familiarity with IT systems related to dental practice management is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
A proactive attitude towards continuous professional development and staying updated on best practices in dental nursing.
