THE ROLE

TRAINEE DRAUGHTSPERSON

This role would suit a trainee draughtsperson with a construction background looking to join a company offering training. We will be looking to put the ideal candidate through college and then university on a day release basis, with a view to progress into Senior roles. We are a tight knit team with upcoming exciting projects for major clients.

Reporting directly to the Design Manager you will be responsible for the following:

Design and prepare detailed electronic working plans, charts and/or scale drawings for complex projects from observation, measurements, sketches, and specifications using AutoCAD software. Interface with department personnel to obtain details of equipment and materials requirements. Prepare electronic layouts, charts, detailed scale drawings, and material and equipment requirements from sketches, specifications, and standard layouts provided by customers, consultants, and/or departmental contacts; review and manipulate electronic files received from consultants and departmental contacts. Revise computer-aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction. Provide technical guidance and direction in the interpretation and implementation of specifications and requirements and the procurement and use of AutoCAD files. Identify dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances, materials, etc. Prepare detailed list of construction documents and maintain AutoCAD standards. Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analysing information from multiple sources.
This role forms a critical part of day-to-day operations of the business and brings with it a high degree of responsibility. Candidates will need to feel comfortable operating under pressure and be capable of making independent decisions quickly if needed.

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.

TRAINING: College and/or University on a day release basis.
