We specialise in refurbishment and life science fit-outs, working predominantly with blue-chip clients in the Cambridge area. The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee Estimator to join our head office team in Fulbourn, Cambridge. This is a full-time, office-based position designed for an ambitious individual who wants to develop a career in construction estimating.

As a Trainee Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. You will gain hands-on experience across the full tendering process, with training and mentorship provided.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the administration of tender documentation

Prepare and issue tender packages to suppliers

Communicate with suppliers during the bidding process

Analyse and compare supplier tender returns

Provide day-to-day support to the project estimator and wider team

About You

We are looking for someone enthusiastic, analytical, and eager to learn.

Essential Skills & Attributes:

Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology

Strong numerical and analytical skills

High attention to detail and ability to work methodically

Competent in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Good communication skills, with confidence engaging the supply chain

Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Desirable:

Relevant construction-related academic background
