Job Description
The Finance Department of the Church in Wales is responsible for provision of wide-ranging financial services and advice for the Representative Body and other provincial bodies. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as a Trainee Finance Assistant. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in finance within the not-for-profit sector.
Essential
A keen interest in developing a career in finance.
Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
Willingness to learn and take initiative.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
Desirable
Some experience in an office or administrative role
An understanding of basic finance or bookkeeping principles
Commitment to studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT)
Experience of using SharePoint as a file repository system
An empathy with the mission and ministry of the Church in Wales
