FCIM Ltd is a small construction business based in Essex. The vast majority of our works are undertaken in London, however we do operate Nationwide.

We specialize in Fire Curtain Installation and maintenance. We undertake work for the leading manufacturer of automatic fire curtains, fire barriers and smoke curtain systems. The systems we install are in some of the world's most prestigious buildings.

As a Trainee Fire Curtain Installation Engineer your work environment includes:

We are looking for a motivated and reliable trainee willing to learn a new trade. Training will expect to last between a 6-18 month period ( Depending on skill levels and experience).

You will be working with an experienced Installation Engineer as part of a 2 man team. Ideally you will be based in the Essex area and the Engineer will be responsible for picking you up and taking you home each day. If you are not based in Essex (or on route into London)alternative methods of travel will have to be made .

On completion of your training you will eligible to have the use of your own company vehicle. Please expect early starts as we are regularly required to be onsite by 7am. This in turn means an earlier finish time

You will be responsible for assisting the Engineer in the installation of Fire Curtains. We are looking for someone well-spoken who is able to communicate with well with Clients, other trades and co-workers.

The goal is to work well as a team, learn a new trade, and ensure the quality workmanship on the installation of these life saving systems.

The successful candidate will receive the following Training throughout their employment with us (other training may also be provided as required).

Training days with the Manufacturer On the job training with an experienced engineer IPAF, PASMA, SSSTS, Emergency First Aid, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling

Duties include but are not limited to:

Assist in installing new or install and repair existing Fire Curtains. Ensure equipment and materials are in good condition by conducting regular inspections, and ensuring they are stored correctly Help the Installer to identify any issues that could lead to safety problems and resolve them before any accidents occur

Experience:

Previous experience in a similar role would be a plus but not required. Previous experience on a Construction Site, or connected to the Construction Industry. Valid CSCS or equivalent Valid Drivers License
Job Types: Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: 100.00-120.00 per day
