Key Responsibilities



This position is an opportunity to develop a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of a wide range of social media marketing tasks and tactics. This will include audio, video and blog content creation, community and enquiry management, paid ads activity, analytics, PR and crisis communications support, amongst other duties as appropriate.


Working under the Social Media Manager, we're looking for someone who understands the motivations and interests of a prospective student audience, and who can produce and commission content that cuts through the noise. You'll be highly tuned to the latest trends and platforms and excel at generating creative, engaging and inclusive ideas.


At the same time you'll understand the importance of upholding and reflecting our brand values in online spaces, with attention to detail, professionalism and a willingness to provide the best experience for our applicants a must. You'll also have the opportunity to work closely with a team of current student content creators, and direct and guide their work to ensure our output is also of the highest standard.



About the Department



Our Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations team are responsible for the core range of activities that promote and engage with our external environment and stakeholders. This includes both prospective and current students, businesses and our local community. Made up of Marketing and Communications, Student Recruitment and Outreach and External Relations teams, we work together to plan and deliver key activities that support the University's ambitions for growth, diversity and an increased profile. They also provide marketing expertise to colleagues and support events, corporate projects and new initiatives across the University.
