Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Trainee Account Manager holds responsibility for some of the day-to-day operational activities for specific accounts. The role involves ongoing compliance to both internal and client specific SOP's designed to ensure that agreed service standards are maintained to the highest level on a consistent basis.
Responsibilities
Financial
Working with the Credit Control Department to ensure that customers queries are managed efficiently and that payments from Cash Accounts/Duty VAT are monitored properly.
Commercial/Customer Service
Supporting the Branch Manager to introduce measures to improve profitability, enhance customer service levels and improve client retention.
Monitoring operational performance on an ongoing basis and taking corrective actions to improve performance where possible.
Monitoring customers volumes on an ongoing basis and highlighting any unusual trends to management.
Query Resolution - to resolve any from internal departments (including Transport, AP, AR, HR) in a timely and efficient manner.
Operational
Supporting the Branch Manager to improve operational efficiency.
Support the Key Account Managers with operational support.
Run Customer Status reports.
Review daily ETA changes and Key account managers of any potential delivery issues.
Manage their own customer operational portfolio.
Experience
Up to 1 years experience in freight forwarding/shipping preferred but not essential
