We are a growing, close-knit lettings agency specializing in student accommodation for the University of Hertfordshire. As our business continues to expand year on year, we're looking for a motivated and personable Lettings Negotiator to join our team. Experience in lettings is preferred but not essential, we're more interested in finding the right attitude and team fit.
Role Overview:
As a Lettings Negotiator, you will serve as a primary point of contact for prospective tenants, primarily university students, as well as landlords. Your role will include guiding tenants through the lettings process, conducting property viewings, responding to enquiries, and ensuring a smooth and professional rental experience for all parties involved. During quieter periods, you will also support business development by seeking new landlords through methods such as cold calling and leaflet distribution in the local area. Additionally, you will manage and create content for our social media accounts, including promotional material and engaging competitions to increase visibility and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to tenant enquiries via phone, email, and in-person
Conduct property viewings with prospective tenants
Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants and landlords
Identify tenant needs and match them with suitable properties
Assist with general office duties and support the team during busy periods
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of service
Manage social media accounts
Business development
Peak Season Availability:
This is a seasonal role with particularly high demand from
late July to early September
, so
flexibility is essential
. You must be available to work
additional Saturdays throughout August
to support the increased workload during this busy period.
Working Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 09:00 - 17:30 (1-hour lunch break)
Friday: 09:00 - 17:00 (30-minute lunch break)
One Saturday per month: 10:00 - 13:00 (additional Saturdays in August as required)
Person Specification:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A friendly, approachable, and professional manner
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks under pressure
Willingness to learn all aspects of the lettings process
A can-do attitude and proactive approach to problem solving
Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle on a daily basis
