Overview



We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team as a Trainee Lighting Design Engineer. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for lighting and technology to gain hands-on experience and training in a professional environment. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced engineers to learn the fundamentals of lighting design and develop valuable skills, before pursuing their Lighting Industry Association (LIA) accreditation.

Responsibilities:



1. Assist with the design and development of lighting solutions for various projects.

2. Learn how to conduct lighting calculations and simulations using industry-standard software tools.

3. Shadow experienced team members during project meetings, presentations, and client interactions to understand project requirements and expectations.

4. Support the preparation of lighting layouts, drawings, and specifications under the guidance of senior staff.

5. Research new lighting technologies, materials, and products to stay informed about industry trends and advancements.

6. Assist in coordinating with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.

7. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and develop creative solutions to design challenges.

8. Actively engage in training sessions, workshops, and educational opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in lighting design engineering.

Qualifications:



1. A good standard of secondary or tertiary education (A Level or equivalent as a minimum)

2. Strong interest in lighting design and a desire to pursue a career in this field.

3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.

6. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take initiative.

7. Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and CAD software is advantageous. Training will be provided.

8. Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritise tasks to meet project deadlines.

9. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

10. Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development.
