Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented

Junior Lighting Designer

to join our Lighting Design team. In this role, you will support the planning and development of lighting concepts for retail spaces, helping to create engaging and visually compelling customer experiences. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their design career to grow their technical and creative skills in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Learn the lighting design process, from luminaire selection, understanding terminology, learning the process of lighting calculations and learning the various software packages (AutoCAD, Dialux) required to complete projects. Once this is complete; Design and develop detailed lighting schemes to support sales and our customers' needs, covering retail projects. Support bids for roll-out projects and clients by developing technical solutions which optimise cost-effectiveness. Use software systems to produce lighting designs that meet industry standards and customer expectations. Identify new product development opportunities. Interact with stakeholders to ensure the finished lighting effect meets the customer's requirements, often by visiting the stores. Support lighting payback calculations on a project-by-project basis. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, lighting technologies, and sustainability practices

Skills

Experience with using AutoCAD, or other design software; experience with Dialux is a plus Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines A good eye for detail, composition, and visual storytelling in a retail environment Willingness to learn from senior team members and contribute to creative discussions

Pay: 26,000.00-26,500.00 per year
