We are seeking a motivated Trainee Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in machining and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will be time served in this field, detail-oriented, and interested in advancing their career within the machining industry, basic knowledge of center lathe Turning and Milling is required
Duties
Assist with setting up and operating manual and CNC machines, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machines (XYZ)
Learn and support precision manual and CNC milling the turning
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure precise machining
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions
Perform basic machining tasks using hand tools, power tools, and tooling equipment
Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards
Assist with assembly, welding, or other manufacturing processes as directed by supervisors
Operate forklifts or other material handling equipment following safety protocols when required
managing and cleaning of sumps and areas with in the workshop
Skills
Basic understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T principles
Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes and tooling
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks or general CAD concepts is a plus
Knowledge of manual and CNC programming fundamentals and CAM programming is desirable but not mandatory
Experience with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines
Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and tooling safely and effectively
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and quality standards in a production environment
Health and safety knowledge and experience
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations involved in machining tasks
Willingness to learn CNC operation, machining techniques, welding, fabrication, polishing, and other manufacturing skills
Ability to operate forklift equipment safely when trained
