As a TNA, you will work in a patient-facing healthcare support role while completing a 2-year foundation degree through an approved Higher Education Institution (HEI). This is a valuable stepping-stone into nursing and clinical practice.
Entry Requirements:
Level 2 (GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent) in English and Maths prior to startingthe programme.
Right to work in the UK and eligible for apprenticeship funding.
Employed in a healthcare support role (e.g., HCA or similar).
Written support from your manager/employer confirming readiness and support.
Commitment to balancing work and academic responsibilities.
If GCSEs are not yet achieved, candidates may be enrolled in
Functional Skills
training and assessment prior to starting.
Application Process:
Submit an expression of interest or internal application.
Interview and suitability assessment.
Functional Skills check (if required).
Employer endorsement and university enrolment.
Programme Structure:
2 years (full-time equivalent).
Majority of training is on-the-job, with 1 day/week allocated to study.
Additional placements in community or mental health settings.
Supported by a Practice Assessor/Supervisor and HEI academic team.
Final
End Point Assessment (EPA)
for NMC registration.
