Duties
Coating Operations
Assist in the operation of
vacuum deposition systems
(thermal evaporation, e-beam, or sputtering).
Wafer Dicing & Post-Coating Processing
Learn to operate
wafer dicing saws
(Disco Hi-Tec or ADT) to cut coated substrates to final size.
Perform inspection and cleaning of diced parts using microscopes and cleaning systems.
Maintain yield and quality standards through careful handling and process control.
Software and Design Exposure
Receive training in
optical coating design software
:
TFCalc
and
Essential Macleod
to design and simulate multilayer coatings.
Exposure to
optical system design with Zemax
(for lenses, filters, or laser systems).
Opportunity to learn
mechanical design using SolidWorks
for fixturing, holders, or tooling development.
Production Support
Assist with
production scheduling and workflow tracking
under supervision.
Prepare and load optical substrates into coating chambers.
Monitor deposition parameters and film thickness using in-situ monitors.
Clean and maintain vacuum systems, chambers, and fixturing components.
Assist with
routine maintenance and calibration
of vacuum equipment.
Experience
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or technical degree preferred).
Desirable (but not required):
Prior experience with vacuum systems, CNC machinery, or wafer dicing tools.
Familiarity with optical or mechanical design software.
Understanding of cleanroom protocols and contamination control.
Strong interest in optics, engineering, or precision manufacturing.
Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn technical software.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed procedures.
Excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn in a cleanroom/lab environment.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Pay: 24,420.00-30,000.00 per year
