An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Paralegal to join our busy and fast paced Recoveries Team in our Edinburgh city centre office.


This exciting opening would suit someone looking to start a career in motor insurance claims, and while previous experience is advantageous it is not essential, as full training will be provided.

This position is based in our Edinburgh city centre office with a combination of home and office working (working 2 days in the office and 3 days from home). You would therefore need the infrastructure in place to work from home and will be provided with a company laptop.



You will be responsible for:

Completing the initial training, which may require you to work in the office full time initially before moving to hybrid working. Building up your own caseload of motor recovery claims. Pursuing claims through the various stages and making full use of our case management system. Complying fully with agreed service standards. Communicating with clients, insurers, expert witnesses, and solicitors. Dealing with administration as required.


Effective people skills (able to work well with colleagues, clients, etc.). The ability to prioritise your work. An organised approach to work. Computer literate (working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word). Effective numeracy and literacy skills.

You will be a team player with good attention to detail, the ability to use your own initiative and to work to strict deadlines. You should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills. A legal qualification is not essential as full training will be given.
