PreventiPest are expanding operations through Cornwall and looking for a Trainee Pest Control Technician based in central Cornwall area, to cover the whole of Cornwall to be trained up to provide residential pest control services. PreventiPest are an accredited BPCA Member and a forward-thinking company, who keep up with innovative solutions and techniques.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in driving around Cornwall, as well as coming from a hands-on occupation and be able to work in confined spaces, so good physical fitness is a bonus, perhaps from an agricultural or military background for example (although not essential).

This position will initially be offered as a 3-month contract to cover the summer season, with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance.

The successful candidate will also receive in-house training as well as being put through the RSPH Level II Award in Pest Management certification with the British Pest Control Association (within 12 months if the contract extended).

It is essential that the candidate be based centrally in Cornwall, ideally Bodmin, St Austell, or Newquay.

Furthermore a company van, uniform, mobile phone, and fuel card will be provided.

Rodent control externally and in attic spaces Insecticidal fogging and sprays Surveys and inspections Proofing work of holes gaps in fabric of building Bird proofing with some roof work required Loft clearances Report writing Dealing with customers in their homes Stock taking of materials in van Driving distance between jobs

Requirements:

Full, valid UK drivers' licence Good communication skills Confident dealing with clients Personable and approachable A self-starter who is enthusiastic and keen to learn Can work on own initiative Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills A forward thinker with good initiative Someone who is honest, trustworthy and reliable Service orientated and customer centric Location: preferably central Cornwall

Job type:

Temporary 3 month contract to cover the summer season with option to go full-time

Salary:

18,000 starting salary for 30 hour week (increases following certification and as more experience gained)
