The Opportunity



We're looking for a

Trainee Plant Supervisor

to lead our Ready-Mix Plant at Kessel, near Penryn, Cornwall. This is a hands-on, standalone role where you'll be the key point of contact on site. Responsible for the day-to-day running of the batching plant. You'll manage the batching of concrete, liaise with drivers, take customer orders, and ensure the smooth operation of the plant from start to finish.


With full training provided and support from Senior and Regional colleagues, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who is self-motivated and eager to develop in a production environment.

What You'll Be Doing



Operating the batching plant safely and efficiently, including pre-start checks and daily operations. Taking and processing customer orders, liaising with drivers, and acting as the main point of contact on site. Maintaining accurate materials and stock records, ensuring aggregate bins are topped up and waste is managed correctly. Carrying out routine maintenance tasks such as greasing equipment and cleaning plant and mixers. Ensuring the site is kept clean, tidy, and secure at all times. Supervising visiting drivers and contractors to maintain safety and quality standards. Completing technical testing required for concrete production and following all company HSEQ procedures. Providing excellent customer service, offering guidance on product use when needed.

Who You Are



You'll be self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently in a standalone role. You'll be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions. You'll be an excellent communicator with a customer-focused approach. You'll be confident with computers and willing to learn new systems. You'll be keen to learn and develop, with full training provided. Previous experience in plant operations is desirable but not essential. Soft skills, reliability, and a proactive attitude are most important.
