Priory Hospital Llanarth are looking for a Trainee Psychologist to join the team on a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week.



Priory Hospital Llanarth Court, located in the rural area of Usk, Monmouthshire, offers secure services for adult males and females. We provide a specialist assessment and treatment service for people with mental health conditions who present with a variety of behaviours that challenge.

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients



A trainee psychologist will be expected to be working towards the following key responsibilities, which make up the Core Roles expected within the training process. This will be a progression and the ability of the post holder to carry out key responsibilities within their workload will be greatly dependent on their level of experience and where they are on their training pathway. It will be the supervisor's responsibility to ensure that the workload is appropriate to the trainee's level of skill and competency at any given point.

What you'll bring to the role

It will be essential you have completed a BPS accredited undergraduate psychology programme and attained a degree of no less than an upper second classification. ? You should where necessary have completed any postgraduate qualification which your professional body (BPS) identifies as a pre-requisite for progressing towards you training role.
