Base Salary:

27,700 Per Annum



Essentials:

We're looking for a passionate and detail-oriented individual to join our Quality Department as a Trainee Quality Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in social care who is eager to develop a career in quality assurance. You'll support services across South and Mid Wales, working alongside experienced professionals to uphold and improve care standards.

You'll be proactive, flexible, and committed to collaborative working, with a strong understanding of audits, self-assessments, and person-centred care. A background in operational management within social care is desirable, but we welcome candidates with lived or voluntary experience too. The ability to drive is essential for this role.

Full job description

As a Trainee Quality Officer, you will contribute to improving the lives of individuals with learning disabilities by supporting quality assurance across supported living, residential, and day services. You'll help ensure services are safe, inclusive, and compliant with Welsh legislation and Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) standards. You will work closely with our specialist support services and play a key role in staff development, service delivery, and maintaining care standards.



Role and Responsibilities



Assist with audits, quality reviews and service improvement projects Support the implementation of person-centred and inclusive practices Help services meet CIW inspection domains and legislative requirements Gather and analyse feedback and quality data to inform improvements Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders Participate in structured learning, shadowing, and training opportunities Promote dignity, independence, and choice across all services

Experience

Experience in a health or social care setting (paid, voluntary or lived) Strong communication and interpersonal skills and able to have difficult conversations Understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office) Willingness to travel across South and Mid Wales Enthusiasm for learning and professional development

Desirable:



Awareness of CIW frameworks and Welsh legislation Experience contributing to service improvement * Welsh language skills (spoken or written)
