We are seeking a high quality candidate to join our growing business and work as a restoration technician. This role involves evaluating and restoring properties after damage caused by fire, water, squatters or other incidents. If you're technically minded, but practical and can use power tools and drive, and want to learn a trade in an exciting niche, this might be for you. We work for large corporates, property managers and major insurance companies around Greater London and the Home Counties.
Initially working as a support technician within the team, focusing on strip outs, collecting and transporting building materials, post fire cleanup, mould removal, training for ACM sampling, and update reports, with the aim being to qualify as a BDMA technician and work on Fire and Water claims. All training and development is provided.
Duties
- Carry out initial surveys of damaged properties
- Remove debris and damaged materials, strip out
- Clean and sanitize affected areas
- Install drying equipment to return water damaged buildings to their original state
- Document restoration process for insurance purposes
Requirements
- Previous experience in restoration work is a plus but not required
- Proficiency working in a property service such as labouring or decorating would be a plus
- The ability to follow processes, using software and taking precise measurements diligently
- Physical fitness for lifting and moving heavy objects
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and team members
You will be working in private homes, and coming into contact with customers daily, so it's important you have a polite, professional and positive demeanour.
A full UK driving licence and 6 points of less is also required, as well as the ability to communicate perfectly in spoken and written English.
This role will develop into a qualified technician position, and then likely expand into a senior technician position for the right candidate, with increases in pay and responsibility.
