Job Description

Trainee Sales Assistant

Location: Swindon

Our client, based in Swindon, is looking for an enthusiastic and confident Trainee Sales Assistant to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys face-to-face interactions and thrives in a target-driven environment.

As a Trainee Sales Assistant, you will play a key role in representing our client by actively engaging with potential customers in person. Your primary focus will be on promoting and selling products and services directly to individuals at various locations. This could include event locations, residential areas, or workplaces, depending on the campaign.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage with Customers Face-to-Face: You will be actively approaching potential customers in person at events, residential areas, or business locations. Your goal is to introduce and promote our client's products and services in a professional, approachable manner. You'll need to be confident, personable, and able to start conversations with ease. Promote and Sell Products/Services: Your role will involve explaining the features and benefits of products or services to customers, helping them make informed decisions. You will tailor your approach depending on the location and needs of the customers, making sure to highlight how the product or service can directly benefit them. Build Long-Term Customer Relationships: Beyond immediate sales, you'll focus on fostering long-term relationships with customers. You will ensure they feel valued, following up when appropriate to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business. Your aim is to create lasting connections that benefit both the customer and our client. Achieve Sales Targets: You will be working in a target-driven environment, where meeting and exceeding sales goals is a key part of the role. Your ability to engage with customers and close sales will directly impact your earnings through commission and bonuses. Adapt to Various Campaigns and Locations: The nature of the role means that you will be working in different locations, such as events, shopping centres, business parks, or residential areas, depending on the current campaign. You must be adaptable, willing to travel to different locations, and ready to make the most out of each unique sales environment. Provide Excellent Customer Service: Offering a great customer experience is essential in building trust and driving sales. You will handle customer inquiries, resolve any issues, and ensure customers feel supported throughout the sales process. Work Independently or in Teams: While you will be expected to work independently in many situations, there will also be opportunities to collaborate with other team members on certain campaigns or events. You'll need to be comfortable working solo when necessary but also be able to contribute to team goals. Provide Feedback to Management: You will play an active role in providing feedback to management regarding customer preferences, market trends, and ways to improve the sales process. Your insights will help shape future campaigns and sales strategies.
