Job Overview

Campden BRI's Microbiology Department provides essential services to the food & drink industry through a wide range of contract testing and research activities. The Central Preparation Unit is at the hub to support all activities with an essential supply of media, consumables, and decontamination of waste.

Monday- Friday 8.45am- 5.15pm, 6 month temporary role.

You must live locally & have your own transport to reach our site to be considered.

Position

Creating new media & broths using reciepes Troubleshooting of alerts and failures To conduct media commissioning on new media To maintain the QC culture collection, and provide the QC working slopes To be responsible and carry out preparation and sterilisation of microbiological media, reagents and supplements To co-ordinate work requirements and communication with the labs and Manager Carrying out regular routine calibration of CPU lab equipment (pH meter, water conductivity, balances, measuring cylinders) To be responsible for the organisation & decontamination of laboratory waste To assist with media preparation (where required)

Requirements

Live locally to our site- unfortunately we can't consider relocators for a temporary role ?An interest in science and microbiology Good organisational skills Practical hands-on approach Able to work accurately within specified timeframes and manage priorities Computer literate Enthusiastic and proactive team player
