Trainee Site Supervisor

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Trainee Site Supervisor learning to supervise construction activities, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and assisting with daily site operations, such as managing staff and materials. The role involves assisting with planning, monitoring project progress, maintaining site records, and helping to enforce health and safety regulations to prepare for a full site supervisor role.

Key Responsibilities



Assist with supervision:

Help supervise construction activities and personnel to ensure work is completed safely, within budget and on schedule.

Ensure safety and quality:

Learn to identify hazards, enforce safety protocols, and check that work meets quality standards and project specifications.

Manage site operations:

Assist in organizing staff work schedules, managing the delivery of materials, and maintaining site presentation and cleanliness.

Support planning and reporting:

Help with interpreting drawings, specifications and quantified measurements, preparing daily reports, and maintaining site diaries and other records.

Communicate and coordinate:

Work with site managers, quantity surveyors, direct labour, clients, and subcontractors, and assist in conducting safety briefings, inductions and toolbox talks.

Learn and develop:

Be prepared to learn new skills, potentially gain further qualifications, and take on more responsibility as you progress in the role

Material take-off:

Basic existing ability to quantify materials and fixings for ordering to site or to stores

Construction Technology :

good understanding of construction technology for all trades, ability to converse with all sub-contractors on their specific specialism

Programming :

ability to understand and prepare programmes for works, including specific tasks, sub-contractor operations, report on planned vs actual progress;

Requirements



Full UK driving licence Experience within the construction industry, preferably trade background Good communication skills Desire to progress
