Trainee Speech and Language Therapy Assistant - Start a Meaningful New Career
You must submit a cover letter to be considered for this opportunity.*
Looking to retrain in a flexible, rewarding role that supports children's development? We are a multi award winning Charity whose vision is for all children to start school with the communication skills they need to succeed. We use fun parent and child classes as a vehicle to deliver Speech, Language and Communication training to parents and carers.
We deliver fun, engaging, sensory-based classes to families across Greater Manchester -- and we're looking for confident, reliable and compassionate freelance team members to join us from September 2025. You don't need a background in Speech and Language Therapy -- full training, supervision and support is provided.
You will be based from home, travelling to community venues, children's centres and occasionally schools and nurseries to deliver parent and child classes for new parents and their children and multi-sensory classes for children with learning disabilities.
We pride ourselves on being a flexible and family friendly organisation. We do not have any full time positions- our therapy assistants tend to work anything from 2 to 20 hours per week, term time only, picking up projects to suit their schedules and family life. Most of our therapy assistants run one or two sessions a day, starting at around 9.30am and finishing by 2.30-3.00pm so parents can make the school drop offs and pick ups if needed. Admin work can be done from home whenever is best for you. You'll have the flexibility to attend school events and manage family commitments, thanks to our project-based scheduling and term-time working pattern
We pride ourselves on being an innovative organisation. You must be familiar with technology.
You will receive training and clinical supervision as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, as well as training from a Clinical Psychologist in Perinatal Mental Health.
Start Date
We currently have projects available to start in September 2025, with initial online training available.
We have work available in Wythenshawe, Bury and other locations across Manchester. We have 2, 3 or 4 days of work available each week.
There are optional opportunities for some work during school holidays.
Daily Rate: The general daily rate ranges between 150-200 per day, dependent on number of sessions delivered and responsibilities.
