We are a Darlington based Swim School ran by ex-Olympian Chris Cook and his family. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Trainee Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and educating individuals of all ages in swimming techniques and water safety. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a vital role in promoting a healthy lifestyle while ensuring that all participants feel comfortable and confident in the water.
Duties
Educate students on swimming techniques, water safety, and the importance of physical fitness.
Develop lesson plans tailored to the varying skill levels of participants, from beginners to advanced swimmers.
Conduct engaging and effective swim lessons in both group and individual settings.
Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills.
Maintain a safe and clean swimming environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding progress and any concerns.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements
Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, sports coaching or teaching swimming is preferred but not essential.
Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
A genuine passion for educating others and promoting water safety.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings (between 4pm - 7:30pm) and weekends (between 8:30am - 2:30pm).
Certification in Swimming teaching, Lifesaving, CPR and First Aid is desirable; training may be provided for the right candidate.
Must be able to demonstrate swimming proficiency at an advanced level - Can confidently; Swim continuously a distance of 50m; Tread-water for over 2 minutes; Surface dive to depths of 2m.
