Calex is a specialist training and consultancy organization partnered with several leading automotive manufacturers. We are pleased to announce an exciting new role for a Trainee Technical Trainer to join our Mazda Apprenticeship Programme, based at a state-of-the-art facility in Stewartby Bedfordshire and also working regionally to carry out dealer coaching visits with apprentices.

The successful candidate will work within the training team as a trainee trainer, learning the skills and additional knowledge to become a qualified trainer to deliver Light Vehicle Level 2 and 3 Service Maintenance Technician apprenticeship, linked to the Mazda technician accreditation pathways and High Voltage journey. The successful candidate will be required to undertake formal teaching and learning qualifications as well as learning delivery techniques, vehicle and workshop set-up for lessons and assist curriculum and course design development for training, and monitoring apprentices' progression; providing reports to employers.

We are looking for a qualified technician or ex-apprentice with at least 3-years' experience in the automotive sector and is looking to step into the automotive training environment.

We are aware some candidates will want to join the world of technical training from the retailer network. We offer a very comprehensive training programme to take candidates through teacher training, assessment and the manufacturer technician accreditation programmes to ensure that they are well skilled in training delivery by the end of probation.

Working with a dedicated manufacturer team, and reporting into the Programme Manager, the training team are responsible for the delivery and development of high-quality learning programmes, ensuring that learners remain on track to achieve their respective qualifications and technician accreditation along with maintaining a safe healthy and conducive to learning environment.

About the Apprenticeship Programme



The Mazda Apprenticeship Programme is delivered from our state-of-the-art Academy in Stewartby. The training facility is equipped with all the latest equipment and manufacturer vehicles to provide a real-world environment for apprenticeship training development. The programme delivers not only the core curriculum of the apprenticeship standards but also the technician accreditation pathway and high voltage vehicle journey so that all apprentices are equipped to work on the whole range of vehicles safely and competently.

The core responsibility of the programme is to deliver high quality training to enable Apprentices to achieve their career aspirations and appropriate brand accreditation and professional skills, behaviours, and competencies.

Key Responsibilities



Work alongside other trainers and the wider team to learn the art of delivering courses and other manufacturer specific modules Learn to facilitate engaging training in-line with Trainer Accreditation methodology and latest technology Maintain quality, standardisation and application of training delivery to ensure that it meets the needs of the Apprentice Programme objectives Prepare the academy learning environment and resources (including setting up the workshop vehicles with training faults) Learn to track, manage and coach apprentices to progress using our learner management tracking platform, including monitoring of pre-requisite learning through our Learner Management Systems Assist with development of new training material to create highly engaging training sessions meeting the needs of the apprenticeship standard. The role includes delivery of training across level 3 qualifications - combining attended and virtual classroom formats Learn to produce off the job training reports for employers and managers Assist in delivering quality induction sessions to all new technical apprentices joining the programme Ensure all the training adheres to Health and Safety standards, Safeguarding and Prevent Act as an ambassador for the Apprenticeship Programme, proactively demonstrating good practice and the brand values

About You



Qualified Technician at Level 3 (EHV certification desirable) Full Driving License Recent manufacturer workshop experience (desirable) Strong awareness of new technical innovation Be competent in using MS software packages Passion for training and development of others Motivated by their own professional development Self-motivated and a team player An interest in the automotive industry would be an advantage

Salary & Benefits:
