PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

The post holder will be trained to carry out visual inspections of electronic and mechanical assemblies and will undertake testing and, where appropriate, fault diagnosis and rectification of all sub-assemblies and final assemblies requiring testing.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspection of printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies, sub-assemblies and final assemblies Testing of printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies, sub-assemblies and final assemblies Data entry of test related data using ERP and quality software Work with other departments to improve overall build quality. Work in accordance with the quality system requirements of The Magstim Company to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Facilitate timely inspection and testing to meet order fulfilment obligations Any other duties commensurate to the position

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Ability to understand circuit diagrams and diagnose basic faults at component level. Possess manual dexterity. Soldered and crimped joint work. Good communication skills (verbal and written) Ideally a background in Electronics, Test or Assembly. Relevant recent experience in a test environment. Minimum of HNC in Electrical Engineering or a suitable equivalent. Identify components by type and value. Use of oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, frequency counters and safety testers. Computer literacy.
