We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Trainee Wallpaper Hanger to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in wallpaper hanging, with the intention of becoming a Principal Paperhanger once fully trained. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training and guidance from experienced professionals, allowing them to learn the trade while contributing to various projects. A passion for detail and a willingness to learn are essential for this role.
Most of our installations are based in London, however, there are sometimes projects in other areas of the UK and abroad.

Tones are experts at hanging specialist and high-end wallpapers and wallcoverings throughout the UK and worldwide and have over 40 years' experience. We hang a wide variety of materials such as hand-painted and embroidered silk, paper-backed linen, grass cloth and suede, among others.
Typical Duties
Learn to measure, cut, and apply lining paper, wallpaper and wallcoverings accurately under the supervision of experienced hangers.
Take care to match edges and patterns, work around features and joinery, remove wrinkles, bubbles, smooth joins and clean excess adhesive.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Follow health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills and Requirements
GCSE Mathematics or equivalent.
Right to work in the UK.
Completion of Level 2 Painting and Decorating is preferred, but not essential.
Ability to communicate effectively in English is required.
Able to travel to each site independently.
Punctuality and reliability are very important to us.
Normal colour vision and good hand-eye co-ordination is necessary for this position.
You must be able to safely work at heights, using ladders, scaffolding and access towers.
Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends when required.
Willingness and ability to travel to other areas of the UK and abroad when required.
Additional Information
A typical working week is 9am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
37.5 hours per week is usual, but not guaranteed.
Starting wage is 12.21, with the opportunity to increase once skills improve.
This is a trainee position, however, we would like the successful candidate to build their skills to become a Principal Paperhanger in charge of a small team, once skills are developed.
