The Training and Compliance Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining high standards of care and safety across Lotus Care Services. This role is responsible for delivering essential training, ensuring regulatory compliance through audits and competency checks, and managing the organisation's training records and systems. The post holder will support the management team by promoting a culture of continuous learning, safe practice, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Delivery:
Deliver in-house training to staff, including:
o First Aid
o Medication Administration
o Manual Handling
Ensure training content is up to date, in line with best practice, legislation, and company policies.
Compliance Monitoring:
Conduct regular audits in key compliance areas, including:
o Infection Control
o Medication Management
o Service User Finances
o Health and Safety
Identify any areas of non-compliance and work with management to implement action plans.
Competency Assessments:
Carry out and record competency checks for staff in:
o Medication Administration
o Manual Handling Techniques
Provide feedback and follow-up training where necessary to ensure safe and effective practice.
Support with care certificate competency sign offs.
Training Management:
Maintain and regularly update the training matrix for all staff.
Monitor completion of all mandatory training (including Your Hippo e-learning modules).
Follow up with individuals and line managers to ensure training is completed within set deadlines.
Support new starters with their induction training and monitor initial training progress.
General Duties:
Respond to requests and carry out additional tasks as directed by the management team and directors.
Contribute to inspections, audits and reviews by external agencies, such as CQC or local authorities, by providing up-to-date training and compliance documentation.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Experience delivering training in a health or social care setting
Strong knowledge of care sector compliance standards (e.g., CQC regulations)
Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills
Confident communicator with the ability to engage and motivate staff
Proficient in using digital training platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
Desirable:
Recognised training qualification
Experience conducting audits and writing action plans
First Aid, Manual Handling, and Medication Train the Trainer certification
Working Relationships:
Reports directly to the management team
Works collaboratively with care teams, admin, and HR
Liaises with external training providers and regulators as required
Own car will be needed for this role as you will be training staff over Burton on Trent and Swadlincote.
