This role offers a mix of working from home and in the office. You will need to come to our Malvern office at least one day a week. A BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check will be required for this role.
The Training Developer is responsible for the creation, development, and maintenance of training courses, learning activities, exams, and other materials to support the organisation's schemes and accreditation programs. This includes working closely with internal teams, trainers, and other stakeholders to ensure training materials are up to date, aligned with accreditation standards, and reflective of industry trends. The role also involves monitoring feedback, responding to customer needs, and supporting the development of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Development and Maintenance of Training Materials:
Develop and maintain training courses, including learning activities, exams, and other supporting materials.
Create and update training materials, including branded slide decks, trainer scripts, interactive activities, and exam question banks.
Ensure all training materials incorporate inclusive practices, such as screen-reader-friendly formats, accessibility options, and diverse learning styles.
2. Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Meet regularly with internal teams to stay informed about developments, trends, and updates to training requirements.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, trainers, and managers to gather input for course content and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
Support the development and maintenance of CPD programs, ensuring they meet the needs of learners and accreditation bodies.
3. Feedback Monitoring and Customer Support:
Monitor feedback from learners, trainers, and customers to identify areas for improvement in training materials and delivery.
Respond to customer inquiries and feedback related to training content, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Use feedback and exam performance data to refine and improve course content, exams, and learning activities.
4. Trainer Reviews and Quality Assurance:
Support the Training Manager in conducting trainer reviews, ensuring that trainers deliver content effectively and consistently.
Perform quality control checks on all training materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with accreditation standards.
Evaluate and recommend platforms for course delivery (e.g., Moodle, Big Blue Button) to enhance the learning experience.
5. General Responsibilities:
Stay up to date with industry trends, accreditation requirements, and best practices through ongoing CPD.
Attend webinars, industry events, and meetings to stay informed about developments in training and accreditation.
Collaborate with the marketing team to promote training courses and increase their visibility.
Key Skills and Competencies:
1. Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies.
Proficiency in creating engaging and interactive training materials, including slide decks, scripts, and activities.
Familiarity with training platforms and tools (e.g., Moodle, Slido, Big Blue Button).
Understanding of accreditation processes and mapping course content to frameworks.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly.

Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience in training development, instructional design, or a similar role.
Experience in creating and improving training materials for in-person, online, and hybrid delivery.
Working knowledge of Microsoft products, especially Word and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with accreditation processes and working with accreditation bodies.
Knowledge of cyber security or technical training (desirable but not essential).
Relevant qualifications in training, education, or instructional design (e.g., CIPD, CTT+, or equivalent) (desirable but not essential).
