'Would you like to be part of a team that aims to create the extraordinary?'

Our Organisation

This role is advertised by NCC Professional Services. Part of Nelson and Colne College Group, NCC Professional Services provides expert business support services to the wider College Group.

Nelson and Colne College Group is a beacon for educational excellence, made up of a family of colleges - Nelson & Colne College, Accrington & Rossendale College and Lancashire Adult Learning. The College Group is the only Further Education college in Lancashire to be graded as 'Outstanding' under the new Ofsted inspection framework.

Together the Group forms a Sixth Form, Skills and Technology Centre, University Centre, employer training and adult learning provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels.

The Exciting Role

A new opportunity has arisen to join our Engineering Apprenticeship Team as a Training & Development Coach (TDC) -- a role that is key to shaping the next generation of engineering talent in Lancashire. As part of Nelson and Colne College Group, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, you'll be working in a high-quality, supportive environment where your industry knowledge and commitment to learner success will make a real difference. This is an exciting time to join us as we continue to expand our provision to meet the region's growth in advanced manufacturing and engineering.

We offer a broad suite of apprenticeship standards including:

Metal Fabricator (Level 3) Engineering Fitter (Level 3) Mechatronics Maintenance Technician (Level 3) Machining Technician (Level 3) Toolmaker and Die Maintenance Technician (Level 3) Engineering Technician (Technical Support) (Level 3) Manufacturing Engineer (Degree Apprenticeship - Level 6)

You don't need to be an expert in all of these areas -- we're looking for experienced and passionate professionals from any engineering background, with the desire to support and develop the workforce of tomorrow. Whether you're a qualified assessor already working in education, or you're looking to transition from industry into training, we'd love to hear from you.

This role will be based primarily at Accrington & Rossendale College but may require occasional travel to other sites or employers.

What You Will Be Doing:

Supporting apprentices from induction to End Point Assessment, guiding them through all aspects of their training programme. Visiting apprentices in the workplace to observe and assess competence, review progress, and provide high-quality coaching and support. Working collaboratively with employers and internal delivery staff to ensure apprentices are making timely and meaningful progress. Tracking apprentice progress using OneFile and internal systems, and ensuring all records and documentation are up to date and compliant. Contributing to standardisation and quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of delivery and assessment. Adapting delivery to meet the needs of learners and their roles, including setting challenging targets, planning reviews, and embedding core themes such as Health & Safety, Safeguarding, British Values and Equality & Diversity. Helping apprentices develop both technical and transferable skills that are valued by employers in a fast-evolving sector.

What We Are Looking For:

? A qualified assessor and IQA with demonstrable experience of leading high quality apprenticeship provision.

? Strong working knowledge of apprenticeship standards, funding rules, EPA processes, and Ofsted requirements.

? A confident and credible leader with a track record of managing teams, coaching staff, and delivering results.

? Experience using digital systems (e.g. OneFile, ILR, e-portfolios, spreadsheets) to track and improve learner progress.

? Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to influence, motivate and engage a wide range of stakeholders.

? A passion for apprenticeships and a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for learners and employers.

? While an engineering background is not essential, you must bring sector knowledge and experience relevant to managing technical apprenticeship programmes.

What We Offer in Return:

Generous annual leave entitlement increasing to a maximum of 28 days (with service), plus Bank Holidays and closure days - totalling 41 days per year Access to a workplace pension scheme - with employer contributions of 5% Enhanced occupational sick pay scheme and access to family friendly policies and benefits A range of health and wellbeing benefits and support Staff recognition scheme, including long service awards Free on-site parking on all College sites.
