Overview:
The ASFP, a leading authority in passive fire protection, is seeking a Training Officer to join its dynamic, award-winning team. This role arises from the association's substantial growth, increased industry demands, and the need for strategic support in training, competency and regulatory initiatives.
Job Purpose:
The Training Officer will take an active role in the ASFP's educational activities, providing proactive support to specialist colleagues to develop and deliver the competency pathway, and deliver training and develop courses. This could include the delivery of presentations at ASFP seminars and external conferences, exhibitions, event, and training courses where appropriate.
In the Training Officer role, responsibilities will extend beyond delivering high-quality training and developing new content. The role will also involve managing key accounts and driving training sales opportunities, ensuring that client relationships are nurtured and aligned with the association's goals. By focusing on both the educational and commercial aspects, the Training Officer will contribute to the growth and success of the training programs.
Responsibilities:
Understand and deliver existing ASFP content to delegates around the UK including Ireland where appropriate
Support the wider training team with the creation of the training to suit the growing needs of the ASFP
Working with the Membership Officer to spot opportunities for training with new and existing members
To further own educational knowledge and be proactive in obtaining CPD points for your own development
To be able to discover and attend to the learning needs of delegates you are delivering training to
To be able to audit other training courses as part of the ASFP training recognition program
To be able to review ASFP training against IFE syllabus at regular intervals and be forthcoming with improvements
Requirements:
Experience in technical, regulatory, and standards sectors, preferably in passive fire industry.
Understanding of British, European, and other standards regimes.
Familiarity with building codes and regulations (Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991).
Business acumen in linking standards, compliance, and commercial aspects.
Ability to work within or near Coventry with occasional travel preferred.
Qualifications:
Technical/engineering background or relevant apprenticeship.
Membership of professional bodies (IFE, IMechE, CABE, IEEE, RICS, SFPE, etc.) preferred.
IFE Level 3 certificate in Passive Fire Protection
5-10 years in passive fire protection products/services/testing/certification.
Skills and Competencies
Detailed technical knowledge of passive fire protection products, testing, and certification.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Analytical, team player, results-driven, aligned with ASFP's vision and values.
