About the role

National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) owns and operates the high voltage electricity transmission system in England and Wales. Our role is key in enabling the net zero transition by providing the electricity infrastructure needed to meet the UK's ambitious targets. As Transformation Delivery Manager, you will lead on the delivery of transformational change within a specific area of the network such as System Access Reform, Connections Reform, or Planning & Portfolio Deliverability.



Leading change across multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally (eg. NESO, other TOs, Ofgem, DESNZ), this is a hands-on role. Utilising your strong collaboration, planning, and execution skills, you'll tackle challenges to drive positive change.



You'll support in delivering the transformation portfolio, which includes:

Creating strategic delivery plans. Obtaining internal/external funding for turning ambition into action. Project managing specific elements of transformational change. Presenting at Executive level to request delivery approval, decisions and obtaining discovery input to the project(s).

You'll provide expert transformation delivery expertise, support, and oversight and productively challenge the programme delivery team, ensuring that delivery (plan and execution) is effective and aligned to the intended outcomes.



Working in partnership with the assigned Project Director / Programme Lead, you'll ensure the benefits case is understood and KPIs are being tracked, as well as ensure that the correct governance and processes are being instilled.



This role is based at our Warwick office, and you'll be able to combine with hybrid working from home.

What you'll need

With experience of delivering strategic business change and programme management, you'll have knowledge, and ideally experience, in Electricity Transmission or a related energy or utilities participant.



With strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to communicate and influence up to senior levels, you'll possess excellent communication skills, with an ability to get to the key insights and recommendations clearly and effectively at multiple levels.



You'll have a demonstrated ability to clearly structure and manage projects independently and across others and be a self-starter who is able to identify areas where you can add value, structure work needed and proactively deliver.



Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; with the ability to break problems into root causes, drivers and translate into tangible actions are all essential.
