About us

------------

We are UCL: a diverse community with the freedom to challenge and think differently. From cancer research to climate change, dementia to social inequality, the world is facing huge challenges and we're determined to solve them.

There has never been a more exciting time to join the Strategic Change team, as we build and shape a set of change programmes to deliver UCL's operational strategy. You'll be joining our growing team of exceptionally ambitious and passionate individuals who are dedicated to achieving great success.

The Strategic Change Office was set up to turn UCL's bold ambitions into action. This is your chance to be part of shaping a high-performance portfolio office from the ground up. As part of the wider Strategic Change Team, you'll have the opportunity to bring fresh ideas, create meaningful impact, and help drive transformation across the institution.

Equity, diversity and inclusion is important to us. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone is encouraged to give their best in a place where their unique experiences, perspectives and skills are seen as valuable assets.

About the role

------------------

As a Transformation Programme Manager, you will take the helm of a high-impact, cross-functional strategic programme within the Vice President of Operations' portfolio, shaping its vision, driving its execution, and ensuring it delivers transformational results.

This role offers an opportunity to lead a programme that will make a tangible impact. You'll be responsible for overseeing the full programme lifecycle--strategically planning, implementing, and ensuring governance, all while navigating complexities and driving outcomes that align with broader organisational goals. The stakes are high, and so are the rewards: delivering innovative solutions on time, within scope, and on budget.

Your leadership will drive cross-functional collaboration, uniting diverse teams and senior stakeholders behind a common vision. You will navigate complex governance ensuring accountability and agility in the face of risk and uncertainty. This is a chance to showcase your ability to manage complexity, inspire others, and drive meaningful change that will resonate across the organisation.

A salary of up to 80,000 or more may be offered to the suitable candidate, contingent upon their experience and expertise.

Please note: our advertisements may close early if we receive a high volume of applications. We encourage early submission. Where possible, we will include the interview date or a projected date within the advert.

About you

-------------

We are looking for a proven leader with a track record of delivering large-scale cross-functional programmes in complex organisations. You will be skilled in multiple methodologies and excel at balancing priorities and driving results within scope, time, and budget. You will inspire cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with senior leaders, influencing and guiding them toward shared success. A master of simplifying complexity, you will also ensure governance frameworks support progress, not hinder it.

This is not a "top-down" programme; the Transformation Programme Manager will use strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and diplomacy to build consensus and advance initiatives. Experience working in a marketing and communications environment is desirable.

What we offer

-----------------

In return, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact in a newly established Strategic Change Office, working alongside visionary leaders and talented colleagues. We offer a collaborative environment where your ideas are valued, your growth is supported, and your work directly contributes to the university's bold strategic goals. Our people are our greatest asset, and we invest in them so that they can fulfil their potential. Equity, diversity and inclusion is vital to us.
