We are looking for a Translation Project Manager to join our team at Dals. This role reports to the Translation Operation Manager and plays a key part in the entire translation process. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered accurately, on time and within budget, providing a quality service for Private and Public sector clients.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination -
including analysing client requirements, creating project plans, setting timelines, managing associated risk, and allocating resources.
Linguist Resource Management -
selecting and assigning projects to qualified linguists, managing translation memories and glossaries.
Quality Assurance
conducting quality control procedures and checks at various stages, and ensuring adherence to client specifications.
Communication and Stakeholder Management -
maintaining clear and constructive communication with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to clients, linguists, Account Managers, and the Linguist Recruitment team, via a range of communication media such as email, video call, and telephone.
Budget and Cost Management -
monitoring project costs, gross margins, and ensuring projects stay within allocated budget.
Technical Proficiency -
familiarity with translation management systems (TMS), CAT tools, and other relevant technologies, as well as a solid understanding of the translation industry.
Process Improvement -
identifying areas for improvement in workflows and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
Other duties as appropriate
proactively and positively engaging with team members and management.
About You
Were looking for someone with:
Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
Translation industry knowledge, including of related software and best practices (desired)
CEFR C2 equivalent English language proficiency
Competency in Welsh language to CEFR C1 level (desirable)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with others
Strong organisational, time-management, and prioritisation skills
Good problem solving and analytical skills
Ability to deliver at pace whilst managing a quality service
Commercial understanding and effective budget management skills
Adaptable and proactive approach with a strong commitment to continuous learning
