We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented

Transport and Distribution Assistant

to support our growing logistics operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth coordination of deliveries, route optimisation, and customer service excellence. The successful candidates will report directly to the

Transport Clerks

and liaise with drivers, and the tech team to uphold FKD's standards of reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Assist in the daily scheduling and coordination of delivery routes using our GPS and route optimisation software.

Essential Skills and Experience

Experience in logistics, transport coordination, or distribution operations (minimum 1 year preferred) Familiarity with GPS tracking systems, route planning tools, and inventory software Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast-paced environments Commitment to sustainability and service excellence

Desirable Qualifications

Equivalent of NVQ Level 4 or higher in any discipline. Knowledge of UK road transport regulations and freight handling procedures Experience working within a DPD or similar parcel delivery network Must have a valid right to live and work in the United Kingdom Must have a valid full UK driver's license. Monitor real-time parcel tracking systems and support drivers with operational queries Support transport clerk to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of goods Maintain accurate records of deliveries, returns, and inventory movements. Support the implementation of automated sorting systems and eco-friendly transport initiatives. Communicate with customers regarding delivery updates, complaints, and service feedback. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies

Contract length: 60 months

Pay: 24,420.00-41,000.00 per year
