We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Transport Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our busy distribution team at Embleton.
Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will ensure daily operations are safe, efficient and cost-effective while supporting the team and driving excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Manage daily transport operations, including driver supervision and route planning
Monitor team performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency
Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation and health and safety regulations
Manage fleet resources and maintain supplier relationships
Analyse transport data, identify improvements and support company wide continuous improvement initiatives
Deliver a high standard of customer service and operational reliability
Act as the first point of contact for all people-related matters, providing guidance and support to staff while fostering a positive, inclusive work environment
Requirements
Strong background in logistics, fleet operations, and regulatory compliance
CPC in Road Haulage (required)
GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
Minimum 1 year in a leadership role within transport (3 years preferred)
Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office
Excellent organisation, leadership, and communication skills
Able to work early mornings and flexible schedules as required
Professional, self-motivated, and able to manage workload independently
Strong customer service focus and a proactive approach to work
