: Transport Supervisor or Passenger Services Manager

Job Purpose
To provide safe, courteous, and supportive assistance to passengers--often including children, the elderly, or individuals with disabilities--while being transported between destinations. The role ensures that passengers travel in comfort, dignity, and safety.
Key Responsibilities1. Passenger Support
Assist passengers in boarding and alighting vehicles safely.
Secure passengers using appropriate restraints (seatbelts, harnesses, wheelchairs).
Provide reassurance, supervision, and basic care during journeys.
Handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
2. Safety & Compliance
Conduct pre-departure checks to ensure the vehicle is safe and equipped with necessary tools (first aid kit, fire extinguisher).
Comply with health and safety policies and safeguarding regulations.
Report incidents or concerns immediately to supervisors.
3. Communication
Maintain clear and respectful communication with passengers and their caregivers.
Liaise with drivers, schools, medical facilities, or transport control centers.
Provide written or verbal reports as required.
4. Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate logs or reports on journeys, incidents, or concerns.
Assist with documentation of attendance or absences, especially for recurring transport services.
Qualifications and SkillsEssential
Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude.
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Physically fit and able to assist with lifting or mobility aids.
Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles.
Desirable
Experience working with children, seniors, or persons with disabilities.
Basic First Aid or CPR certification.
Knowledge of safe wheelchair restraint systems.
NVQ Level 2 in Passenger Transport or similar (in some regions).
Working Conditions
Irregular or split shifts may be required (e.g., morning and afternoon school runs).
Work may take place in buses, taxis, minibuses, or trains.
Exposure to different weather conditions when assisting boarding or exits.
Emotional resilience needed to support individuals in distress or unfamiliar environments.
