Transport Coordinator



Job Overview



We are seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to join our team and oversee delivery planning and fleet operations across our multi-branch locations. This role is essential to ensuring efficient delivery services to our domestic customers while maximising vehicle utilisation and profitability.

Key Responsibilities



Delivery Planning & Coordination



Plan and coordinate deliveries to both domestic and trade customer properties, ensuring timely and efficient service Manage trade customer delivery expectations, providing clear communication on schedules and any changes with the commercial team Coordinate with external pallet delivery hauliers for nationwide distribution Optimise delivery routes across Staffordshire and Cheshire to maximise efficiency and customer satisfaction Liaise with drivers and management to communicate delivery schedules and requirements Monitor and respond to any delivery issues or changes in real-time Support a team of drivers and work with several teams to achieve the company's KPIs Conduct regular briefings and maintain clear communication channels Foster a positive and productive working environment

Fleet & Stock Management



Assist with HGV fleet maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant Utilise stock knowledge to minimise unnecessary stock movements while maximising vehicle capacity Monitor and improve profit per vehicle through effective planning and resource allocation Coordinate logistics across multiple branch locations

Essential Requirements



Previous experience in transport planning or logistics coordination Strong knowledge of local areas, particularly Staffordshire and Cheshire Excellent organisational and planning skills Ability to work effectively with drivers, management, and customers Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Computer literacy for planning systems and reporting

Desirable Requirements



Transport CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification Experience managing HGV fleets and light goods vehicles Multi-branch logistics experience Knowledge of stock management or warehouse operations

Job Details



Monday to Friday, with Saturday availability. Hours between 07:00 - 17:00. Minimum 40 hour contract. 28 days holiday per year, including 8 Bank Holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 30,000.00 per year
