Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transport Despatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating the movement of goods, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient operations. This position requires strong management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of supply chain logistics.

Duties

Manage the scheduling and routing of deliveries to ensure optimal efficiency. Coordinate with drivers to confirm pick-up and drop-off times. Maintain accurate records of shipments and deliveries using Microsoft Office applications. Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates on delivery status and resolve any issues that may arise. Collaborate with the logistics team to improve processes and enhance service delivery. Monitor vehicle performance and compliance with regulations. Utilise IT systems for tracking shipments and managing inventory levels. Provide leadership and support to team members, fostering a positive work environment.

Requirements

Proven experience within a logistics or transport environment. Strong driving knowledge, with an understanding of transportation regulations. Familiarity with supply chain processes and logistics operations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer literacy. Excellent command of English, both written and verbal, with strong communication skills. Exceptional customer service abilities, ensuring client satisfaction at all times. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated leadership qualities, capable of motivating and guiding a team.
