We are seeking a proactive and experienced Transport and Logistics Manager to lead and optimize logistics and materials control functions within our manufacturing operation. This role is critical in ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials, components, and finished goods while maintaining seamless internal material flow and inventory accuracy. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning logistics with production schedules, improving supply chain efficiency, and managing a high-performing logistics team.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, manage, and coordinate inbound and outbound transportation of raw materials, components, and finished products.
Lead materials control operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of parts to production lines.
Collaborate closely with procurement to align logistics with manufacturing schedules.
Oversee inventory management, including stock accuracy, cycle counting, and material traceability.
Implement and maintain systems for tracking material movement and ensuring real-time visibility.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and transportation laws.
Manage third-party logistics providers and negotiate freight contracts to optimize cost and service.
Analyze logistics data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for cost reduction or performance improvement.
Develop and implement strategies for logistics efficiency, including route optimization and lean material flow.
Maintain and improve ERP and MRP systems related to logistics and material planning.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in transport and logistics management within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of materials control, production planning, and inventory management.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Just-In-Time (JIT) delivery models.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Proficient in logistics and ERP/MRP systems (ideally SAP).
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
