Job Description

Easy Panels is experiencing rapid growth and we are seeking a highly organised and strategic Transport Manager to oversee the daily operations of our fleet of 24 vans and 20+ drivers. This is a desk-based role, requiring strong administrative, planning, and IT skills. The ideal candidate will have a project management approach, ensuring that vehicles, drivers, and legal compliance are managed effectively while optimising fleet usage.

Key Responsibilities



Fleet & Compliance Management



Oversee all vehicle maintenance, repairs, servicing, and legal compliance. Ensure MOTs, insurance, and servicing schedules are maintained and up to date. Verify and manage driver licences, ensuring that every employee operating a business vehicle holds a valid and compliant licence. Manage fleet tracking software, ensuring all vehicles are monitored, fully functional, and operating efficiently. Oversee and manage the transport planning department, ensuring efficient route planning and the timely delivery of schedules to the warehouse team. Provide forecasting insights to other business departments, identifying when additional vehicles or drivers may be required to meet demand. Ensure vehicles are used safely, efficiently, and in line with legal requirements. Deal with any insurance paperwork relating to vehicles.

Driver Management & HR Responsibilities



Recruit, onboard, and manage drivers, handling all HR processes from interviewing to termination. Conduct all RTWs and provide detailed minutes formatted adequately. Conduct driver inductions, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Providing sign off competency for all new driver employees. Monitor driver schedules, hours, absences, and performance, addressing HR or disciplinary issues as necessary in line with company policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records for all drivers, including HR documentation and performance reviews or disciplinary proceedings.

Optimisation & Strategic Planning



Oversee route planning, vehicle allocations, and fleet efficiency to ensure vehicles are optimally used while keeping fuel costs, driver hours, and compliance in check. Continuously review and improve transport processes to enhance operational efficiency.

Communication & Collaboration



Maintain open and effective communication with warehouse and customer service, to ensure transport operations align with business needs. Act as the main point of contact for transport-related issues within the company. At times, some of these calls will be required outside of business hours. Strong internal communication is key in this role to ensure seamless collaboration between teams.

Administration & IT Management



This is a desk-based role handling high volumes of administration, including compliance documentation, scheduling, and fleet reporting. Ensure HR records, driver schedules, and fleet maintenance logs are up to date. Use software systems, digital tracking and HR management systems to keep accurate reports on fleet usage, driver hours, and legal compliance.

Requirements



Proven experience in transport management, fleet operations, or logistics (ideally +5 years). CPC qualification Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities to handle high volumes of administration. Strong IT skills - must be confident using fleet tracking software, HR systems, and digital reporting tools. Exceptional communication skills to coordinate with multiple teams across the business. Knowledge of transport regulations, HR procedures, and driver compliance. A strategic mindset, with the ability to plan and optimise operations.

Schedule & Benefits



Role:

Full-time, Permanent

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasion out-of-hours calls.

Location:

Aberdare, South Wales.

Pay:

Between(40,000-50,000) DOE + performance related bonus.
