Our Transport Team plays a vital role in keeping our operations moving safely, efficiently, and on time. We're now looking for a
Transport Planner
to join the team and help coordinate the daily movement of vehicles, drivers, and plant across the UK.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering a compliant, cost-effective transport operation.
What you'll do
As a key member of the Transport Team, you'll:
Plan and coordinate vehicle and driver schedules to ensure jobs are completed on time and in the most cost-effective way
Process both planned and reactive job requests from Account Managers and customers
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records within our transport management system (Syrinx), ensuring jobs are prepared correctly for invoicing
Communicate clearly and consistently with drivers throughout their shifts, providing guidance and support where needed
Respond promptly to operational issues such as delays, breakdowns, or last-minute changes
Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, company policies, and internal procedures
Promote and support health & safety standards across the department, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
Raise and manage movement orders for plant machinery, ensuring all STGO and regulatory requirements are in place prior to delivery

A flexible and adaptable approach to meet changing business demands, particularly during peak periods
Your experience and knowledge will include:
Basic knowledge of plant and transport operations
Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network
Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office 365
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to operate in a pressurised environment
Experience working in a fast-paced, operational or logistics-based role
