Be part of the movement - and play your part.

About the role

As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in managing and coordinating trailer movements for both import and export operations through UK ferry ports. Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll ensure that all collections and deliveries are completed efficiently and on time while maintaining strong communication with drivers, ports, and customers. This role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while supporting smooth and cost-effective transport operations.

You will be responsible for

Planning and allocating trailer movements, ensuring import and export traffic runs efficiently through UK ferry ports. Communicating with drivers, ports, and customers to manage schedules, resolve issues, and minimise delays. Inputting and maintaining accurate job details within the Transport Management System (TMS). Monitoring trailer availability, prioritising loads according to customer deadlines and operational requirements. Collaborating with planners and operations teams to maximise trailer utilisation and maintain full visibility of the daily plan.

About you

You'll ideally have previous experience in transport planning, logistics, or haulage operations - particularly within import/export or ferry trailer movements. You're highly organised, able to juggle multiple priorities, and confident making quick decisions when plans change. A strong communicator, you're comfortable speaking with drivers, ports, and customers to keep everything running smoothly.

You take pride in accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring information is always up to date in the Transport Management System (TMS). You're confident using Microsoft Office and enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Above all, you're a team player - proactive, reliable, and calm under pressure. You like to take ownership of your work, solve problems on the spot, and have a good sense of humour to help keep the day moving. You'll be joining a lively, straight-talking, and supportive team that works hard, has fun, and always pulls together when things get busy.

We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join.
