Main Purpose of Job:

- Efficient and effective routing of deliveries and collections through out the UK

- To manage the performance of the drivers in line with the requirements of the Transport contracts and the working time directive

- Effective communication to customers and other members of the teams in a timely manner

- Appropriate planning of vehicles and team to comply with all applicable legislation and maintenance guidlines

- To support, encourage other members Transport Planning team to ensure all routes are planned and KPI targets are met

- Increase efficiency within the business by utilising our network through changeovers

Main Duties:

Weekday Tasks:

To route daily Transport deliveries and collections as cost and time efficiently as possible taking into consideration timed deliveries and vehicle requirements

To adapt to unplanned absences and vehicle issues by re-routing as appropriate to ensure all deliveries take place within their specific time windows

To ensure that all Transport collections are routed as efficiently as possible taking into consideration timed vehicle capacity, cut off times, driving hours and vehicle location,

Weekend Tasks:

As above, Weekends will be on a rota system 1 in 3 Saturday Morning, finishing no later than 11:00 - Paid in addition to salary.

Weekly Tasks:

To review and sign off / query all charge rates

To ensure the accurate completion check of the driver timesheets on a weekly basis before they are submitted to Finance

Submit completed timesheets to Finance every Monday morning

Day 2 for Day 3 planning to be communicated to team members and priority bookings are identified

To hold regular weekly team meetings with the Planning Team to discuss and review previous weeks results, what the priorities are for the current week along with sales updates and targets

Ensure all calls to the Transport Planning number/Emails are answered as quickly as possible to deliver a good service to all customers and members

To take responsibility for resolving issues with deliveries / collections as quickly as possible when they arise with the relevant departments

Ensure all scheduled MOT's and inspections are planned

Additional Tasks:

Support of general operations within Transport

To comply with all drivers' hours and Road Transport Directive legislation.

To act as company ambassador when dealing with customers.

To complete all paperwork promptly and accurately as required

To attend all training sessions and workshops as and when you are invited.

Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
