KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Manage an efficient and accurate traffic operations process ensuring all keys tasks are started and completed in a timely manner Combine both leadership and team-player skills to achieve the above

MAIN DUTIES



Plan vehicles and loads daily to ensure best utilization and correct vehicles used also to ensure WTD and driver hours regulations adhered to. Using the satellite vehicle tracking system, oversee/monitor of vehicle locations in relation to customer delivery and collection times. Oversee/monitor UK traffic flow using travel websites and road cameras. Communicate potential issues to drivers to enable them to divert where possible. Proactively communicate with customers regarding any delays to booking times and waiting times at collection and delivery sites. Proactively communicate with drivers regarding changes to plan and additional customer requirements. Communicate planned work for drivers ensuring information is imparted accurately and completely. Process digital tachographs for drivers and vehicles, maintaining digital and associated paper records and analogue tachographs in line with current European driver regulations. Manage all driver and staff apps to ensure internal comms are regular and meaningful Oversee insurance claims process Prepare and issue driver delivery documentation and equipment, including maps and delivery instructions / requirements. Book in and check delivery points and acquire any information unique to delivery destination. Including arranging transshipping details or trailer drop places as required. Manage backloads to maximize fleet utilization. Understand fleet capacity in terms of volume, weight and vehicle restrictions. Plan vehicles for inspection / service / repairs as required and liaise with garage. Ensure office has adequate cover. Create jobs for all deliveries / collections. Liaise with customers to organize loading of correct vehicles and trailers and time to be loaded, via telephone and email. Complete Trailer board to monitor trailer usage and location. Oversee the issuing of uniform / PPE/office supplies. Carry out driver de-brief and training as required. Manage parking of vehicles and trailers on customer and WIT sites.

SKILLS REQUIRED



Good UK road network and national geographic knowledge essential Transport planning knowledge essential. Knowledge of the transport system would be an advantage Think ahead, multi-task in a fast paced and ever changing environment. Work as part of a team National CPC qualification an advantage Experience arranging backhauls and negotiating with other hauliers.
THIS ROLE IS A HYBRID ROLE REQUIRING A MIXTURE OF OFFICE BASED AND HOME BASED WORKING.

Pay: From 32,000.00 per year
