Transport Planner - Group HGV Fleet (Duxford)

32,000 - 38,000

+ performance bonus & pension

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:00

Why this role matters

Smart planning is the lever that keeps trucks profitable, customers happy and carbon down. You'll orchestrate loads, routes and resources for three depots--balancing cost, service and our fast-growing eHGV mileage.

What you'll do

Build and optimise daily/weekly plans in

Qargo TMS

--including EV-compatible routes and charge windows Allocate vehicles and drivers, respecting WTD, drivers' hours and ADR rules Monitor live execution; solve on-the-day issues (breakdowns, late freight, diversions) Liaise with warehouse teams and key clients to hit collection/delivery OTIF targets Track utilisation, empty-running, CO? per mile and produce weekly KPI dashboards Feed data-driven ideas into fleet-upgrade and network-optimisation projects Provide out-of-hours phone cover on a shared rota (1 week in 6)

The skills & experience you'll bring

1-3 yrs in traffic or transport planning for a multi-vehicle fleet Confident user of Qargo

or similar TMS/telematics

Working knowledge of UK & EU drivers' hours, tacho and cabotage rules Data-literate--comfortable reading telematics, fuel and CO? reports in Excel/BI Clear communicator with calm, quick problem-solving chops Interest in sustainable logistics and EV route modelling (training provided)
